Sir Christopher Nolan is one of the most influential filmmakers of his generation — winner of the 2024 Academy Awards for Best Director and Best Picture for Oppenheimer. Born in London in 1970 and educated at UCL, he broke through with Memento (2000) and directed the Dark Knight trilogy, Inception, Interstellar, Dunkirk, Tenet, and Oppenheimer. He was knighted in 2024 and runs Syncopy with his wife and producing partner Emma Thomas.
