Former PepsiCo CEO | Fortune Most Powerful Women | Business icon
About
Indra Krishnamurthy Nooyi is one of the most respected business leaders of her generation — Chairman and CEO of PepsiCo from 2006 to 2019, one of the very few women to lead a Fortune 50 company and among the first Indian-born to do so. Born in Madras (Chennai) in 1955, she studied at Madras Christian College, IIM Calcutta, and Yale School of Management before rising through Motorola, ABB, and Boston Consulting Group and joining PepsiCo in 1994. As CEO she led "Performance with Purpose", diversified PepsiCo's portfolio toward healthier foods and beverages, and grew revenues from $35 billion to $64 billion. Post-PepsiCo she has served on the boards of Amazon and Philips, co-authored the bestseller "My Life in Full", and been named repeatedly to Fortune's Most Powerful Women list. She received the Padma Bhushan in 2007.
