Avengers: Doomsday is the Marvel Cinematic Universe's 35th film and the most anticipated superhero event in a generation. Directed by Anthony and Joe Russo — returning to Marvel after Avengers: Endgame — the film assembles virtually every living Avenger to face Victor Von Doom, played by Robert Downey Jr. in a casting twist that captivated the world when announced at San Diego Comic-Con 2024. The story follows the consequences of the Multiverse Saga: Doom has been architecting chaos across realities, manipulating the Illuminati, the Fantastic Four, and Earth's Mightiest Heroes. When he finally steps into the open, the Avengers must reconcile old fractures — Steve Rogers's return, Wanda's legacy, the X-Men's emergence — to stop him. The Russo Brothers, who hadn't directed a Marvel film since Endgame, were brought back specifically for this project and its sequel, Secret Wars. The production shot across Atlanta, London, and Edinburgh, with IMAX cameras used for all major action sequences. Avengers: Doomsday broke the global opening weekend record, crossing $500 million in its first three days worldwide.
