Kabir Singh (2019), directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga, is the Hindi remake of the Telugu film Arjun Reddy. Shahid Kapoor's raw, intense portrayal of a brilliant but self-destructive doctor earned near-universal critical praise for his acting, even as the film's messaging was controversial. The film earned ₹380 crore worldwide and became one of 2019's biggest Bollywood films. Shahid won every major Best Actor award including Filmfare.
