Chhattisgarh Swami Vivekananda Technical University (CSVTU), named after the great philosopher-monk Swami Vivekananda, was established in 2005 by the Government of Chhattisgarh to serve as the principal affiliating body for technical education across the state. Headquartered in Bhilai, with examination and administrative offices in Raipur, CSVTU affiliates and regulates over 200 engineering, pharmacy, architecture, hotel management, and MBA institutions across Chhattisgarh, making it the nodal institution for technical higher education in the state. CSVTU oversees the delivery of B.Tech, M.Tech, B.Pharm, M.Pharm, B.Arch, MBA, MCA, and Polytechnic diploma programmes across its affiliated institutions. The university develops and revises curriculum in alignment with industry requirements, AICTE guidelines, and the National Education Policy 2020. CSVTU also conducts centralised examinations, result declarations, and university-level scholarships for students of affiliated institutions. The university plays a pivotal role in upgrading the quality of technical education in Chhattisgarh, a state with significant industrial activity in steel, power, mining, cement, and IT. CSVTU has introduced industry-relevant elective modules, mandatory internship requirements, and outcome-based education frameworks across affiliated programmes. Collaboration with companies in the Bhilai-Raipur industrial corridor has enabled industry-academia workshops, curriculum inputs, and placement linkages. CSVTU organises state-level technical competitions, project exhibitions, inter-college hackathons, and the Smart Chhattisgarh Innovation Challenge to foster innovation and entrepreneurship among technical students across the state. The university has launched a Centre for Innovation, Incubation & Entrepreneurship (CIIE) to support student startups emerging from affiliated colleges. The governance structure of CSVTU is aligned with best practices in higher education administration. The university publishes regular academic calendars, maintains a transparent examination system, and has a grievance redressal mechanism for affiliated college students. CSVTU is committed to the vision of making Chhattisgarh's technical graduates competitive in national and global markets while serving the industrial and developmental needs of this mineral-rich central Indian state.
