Named after Mahatma Gandhi and established by the Andhra Pradesh region's industrialist-philanthropist Dr. M.V.V.S. Murthi, GITAM was granted deemed university status in 2007. The Visakhapatnam campus is set in a picturesque location at Rushikonda beach, near the Eastern Ghats and Bay of Bengal, making it one of India's most scenic campuses. GITAM offers programmes in Engineering, Science, Commerce, Management, Law, Pharmacy, Architecture, and Nursing across 50+ departments. The GITAM School of Business is among the top business schools in Andhra Pradesh.
